My Real Mind

Back Where I belong

Posted on November 1, 2011January 21, 2018 by pranay

I walk on these empty streets
The night has fallen
There’s a song in my head
The one I sing
But the words have long been forgotten

I try to remember the words of past
Nothing comes to mind
And finally when I am about to give up
A voice murmurs from behind

Wake up. Its time to go.
You have lived here far too long
I ask myself is this a joke
And go back to the song

My head beats, so does my heart
Dull thud all around
I concentrate and lose focus
But still there’s no sound

I sit down by the lake
Where the star shines on the water
Suddenly almost like a dam just burst
There’s music all around

There are the words that
I said long before
And yet I lost them
In some dream
I hear that voice
The one that said
You after I love

It speaks again
But different words
Calling me out
Wake up. Wake up.
Its time to go home

And then suddenly there’s a bright flash
I lay down unconscious
When my eyes re-open I see a yellow sun
And a bright face holding me
Close to her heart
Finally she whispers
You are back where you belong
