The interdependence of things

It was an interesting book with a lot of interesting points. Its called the Quantum and the Lotus. It talked about the nature of reality. “All of reality is contained in each of its parts”. Isnt it true? It then went on to talk about how things are interdependent.

It suddenly filled me up with thoughts and ideas. Is there a perfect freedom, a perfect independence at all? Or maybe its an illusion that we use to indulge ourselves? In the cosmic scale of things, there is no objective point. Each and everything, every phenomena, every bit of reality we assume to be a fact are all relativistic. They are true or factual given a relative assumption.

Newton’s law said that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. That would mean that any action you undertake would cause a reaction. Since the whole of reality is interdependent, it means that each of your action would cause a change in the state of every object, every reality that exists in this universe.

Given both the points how can we concur that there is a freedom, an independence that we can call ours. No one can ever take an action, a decision independently. Because it would never affect just the decision maker. It was always have an implication to every bit of matter, every human being in this world. Perhaps this is just another explanation of the butterfly effect.

If we assume that there is no objective independence or no perfect independence, what does that leave us with? Can we never call ourselves free? Maybe not. But we can however limit the exposure by understanding what are the major effects of our decisions. And how we can limit the exposure. One way is to be totally excommunicated from the human world completely. That would limit any human reactions to our decisions. But that is not practical. So we tend to choose a set of people, whom we call our friends and family . These people intrinsically know that all actions of their loved ones will affect their lives but they give them the right to let this happen.

The closer the person is, the bigger the right of reactions he would be willing to face from your actions, decisions. And that is perhaps how this life runs.
